Red Box Japan Nominated for Company of the Year at the British Business Awards 2026
Transforming menstrual product donations into lasting infrastructure through partnerships with businesses, local governments and educational institutions across Japan
NPO Red Box Japan, led by Representative Director Kanna Oguma, is pleased to announce its nomination in the Company of the Year category at the British Business Awards 2026, organised by the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ).
The British Business Awards celebrate excellence, innovation and leadership across the UK–Japan business community. Red Box Japan has been recognised among this year’s official nominees for its work to build sustainable access to menstrual products through collaboration with businesses, local governments, schools and sports communities.

Key Achievements in 2026
1. BRIGHT FUTURE OKINAWA: Expanding Access Across 495 Public Schools
In March 2026, Red Box Japan launched BRIGHT FUTURE OKINAWA, an initiative designed to establish access to menstrual products across all 495 public schools in Okinawa Prefecture, reaching approximately 65,000 female students.
By making menstrual products available in schools, the initiative aims to support students who may need products unexpectedly or may not always be able to bring them from home.
Beyond distribution, BRIGHT FUTURE OKINAWA brings schools, businesses and local communities together to support students’ health and educational opportunities through a more sustainable system.
2. Connecting Workplace Wellbeing with Support for Students
Through our work with Unicharm Corporation’s “Dokodemo Sofy” initiative, we are helping expand access to menstrual products in everyday settings, including schools and workplaces.
Our work with Japanet Holdings Co., Ltd. has also connected the introduction of menstrual products in company offices with donations to 12 junior high schools in Nagasaki City.
These initiatives demonstrate how businesses can extend their commitment to women’s health in the workplace into meaningful community support, helping create a model in which everyday business practices contribute to the health and educational opportunities of the next generation.
3. Promoting Menstrual Health Awareness Through Sport
Red Box Japan works with sports teams and facilities to increase understanding of menstrual health and improve access to menstrual products.
Sport offers a powerful platform for reaching people across generations and backgrounds. By connecting sport with education and community engagement, we aim to encourage a shift in perspective: menstrual health is not solely an individual concern, but an issue that society can address collectively.
4. A Nationwide Network of 817 Facilities
Our network has expanded to 817 facilities across Japan.
Our ambition goes beyond increasing the number of products donated. Together with corporate and municipal partners, we are working to ensure that access can be maintained over time, so that people can obtain menstrual products when they need them.
