レッドボックスジャパンは、株式会社フェリシモ（本社：兵庫県神戸市）が運営する「Her smile基金」の拠出先として採択され、同基金を活用して、ユニ・チャーム株式会社が展開する『どこでもソフィ』の学校導入支援を拡大していくことをお知らせいたします。

■「Her smile基金」について

「Her smile基金」は、フェリシモで対象商品を購入いただくことで、1商品につき20円、50円、100円 が基金として積み立てられ、世界各地の女性支援に役立てられる仕組みです。
支援先は、貧困や慣習による差別・偏見など、女性が直面するさまざまな困難の解決に寄与できるかどうか、緊急性や有効性を慎重に検討した上で決定されています。

■『どこでもソフィ』 について

『どこでもソフィ』は、学校向けの「School Sofy」、企業向けの「Office Sofy」の2種類のディスペンサーを無償で提供※し、必要な時に、どこでも生理用品が手に入る環境を整備する取り組みです。中に補充するナプキンは、設置先の学校・企業にご購入いただきます。

※ 無償提供は2種類のディスペンサーが対象で、補充するナプキンは有償となります。本サービスは予告なく変更・中止する場合があります

今回、ユニ・チャームが販売提供するナプキンには、「完全密閉型個包装ナプキン（『ソフィSPORTS羽つき』）」を採用しました。これまで、生理用ナプキンを医薬品医療機器等法（薬機法）が定める範囲の中で1枚ずつ個包装して販売することは、生産性やコストの観点から困難でした。今回、これらの条件を満たす商品を開発することで、誰でも安心して使用できる衛生的なナプキンの提供が可能となりました。

本取り組みにより、「どこでも生理用品が手に入る社会」、そして「“自分らしく、もっと自由に”過ごせる社会」の実現を目指します。

 

レッドボックスジャパンは同社と連携し、沖縄県をはじめ全国の教育現場での導入を広げています。

レッドボックスジャパンは、「女性の社会インフラを整える」ことをミッションに掲げ、学校・地域・企業と連携しながら、生理用品の提供およびヘルスケア教育プログラムの普及に取り組んでまいりました。

今回、「Her Smile基金」からの寄付金は、来年度以降に設置を予定している以下の施設・教育機関における生理用品提供および関連する取り組みに活用する予定です。

・沖縄県内 230校（公立学校）

・宮城県仙台市立 小・中学校 182校

・北海道大学大学院 保健科学研究院

・大阪商業大学堺高等学校

Red Box Japan Builds a Sustainable Ecosystem Model to Address Period Poverty by Introducing Unicharm’s “Doko-demo Sofy” to Schools, Utilizing Felissimo Corporation’s “Her Smile Fund”

NPO Red Box Japan (Representative: Kanna Oguma) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of the “Her Smile Fund” operated by Felissimo Corporation (Headquarters: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture). Through this fund, Red Box Japan will expand support for introducing Unicharm Corporation’s “Doko-demo Sofy” menstrual product dispensers into schools.

■About the “Her Smile Fund”

The Her Smile Fund is a donation program in which ¥20, ¥50, or ¥100 per eligible product purchased at Felissimo is accumulated and allocated to initiatives that support women around the world.
Recipient organizations are selected after careful consideration of urgency and effectiveness, based on whether their activities contribute to solving various challenges faced by women, including poverty, discrimination, and prejudice rooted in social customs.

■About “Doko-demo Sofy”

“Doko-demo Sofy” is an initiative that provides two types of dispensers free of charge—“School Sofy” for educational institutions and “Office Sofy” for companies—to create environments where menstrual products are accessible anytime and anywhere when needed.
The sanitary napkins stocked inside the dispensers are purchased by the schools or companies where they are installed.

* The free-of-charge provision applies only to the two types of dispensers. Sanitary napkins are provided for a fee. This service may be changed or discontinued without prior notice.

For this initiative, the sanitary napkins supplied by Unicharm are fully sealed, individually wrapped napkins (“Sofy SPORTS with Wings”).
Previously, selling menstrual napkins individually wrapped in compliance with Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act (PMD Act) posed challenges in terms of productivity and cost. By developing products that meet these regulatory requirements, this initiative enables the provision of hygienic sanitary napkins that anyone can use with confidence.

Through this effort, the project aims to realize “a society where menstrual products are accessible everywhere” and “a society where people can live more freely and authentically.”

In collaboration with Unicharm, Red Box Japan is expanding implementation across educational settings nationwide, beginning with Okinawa Prefecture.

■Red Box Japan’s Activities and Use of the Fund

Red Box Japan operates with the mission of “building social infrastructure for women.” In partnership with schools, communities, and companies, the organization has been working to provide menstrual products and expand healthcare education programs.

Donations from the Her Smile Fund will be used from the next fiscal year onward to support the provision of menstrual products and related initiatives at the following facilities and educational institutions:

• 230 public schools in Okinawa Prefecture

• 182 public elementary and junior high schools in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture

• Faculty of Health Sciences, Hokkaido University Graduate School

• Osaka Commercial University Sakai Senior High School

Through the effective use of this fund, Red Box Japan will continue to promote environments where more women and children can live, learn, and work with peace of mind, striving toward a society in which everyone can access the support they need.
