On Saturday, October 9th, we held a training session for Matsumoto Yamaga FC Ladies U-15 titled "Let's learn about future femcare!"
Femcare is a term that combines the words "feminine" and "care," and refers to products and services that care for women's bodies and health.
This time, we focused on menstruation, something that is familiar to many women, and Red Box Japan gave a lecture to Matsumoto Yamaga FC Ladies U-15 to help adolescent students live their school life and participate in club activities with peace of mind, and to alleviate some of the anxiety of adolescent girls.
Members of the public who had pre-registered were also able to participate remotely.
We spoke about menstruation from various perspectives, including "How to properly choose and use sanitary products," "Environmental issues caused by sanitary products," "Menstruation and Oriental medicine," and "International topics related to menstruation."
The athletes were given the opportunity to actually touch the sanitary products and were also given instructions on how to use and dispose of them correctly.
I hope this will help you understand and value your body.
At the end of the lecture, we donated the Matsumoto Yamaga FC Ladies U-15 team "TechFit Period Proof Tights," a product by adidas developed to allow women to stay active even during their period.
Additionally, at the home game the following day, we provided sanitary products in the women's and multi-purpose restrooms inside the stadium.
In 2018, Celtic FC became the first team in the UK to provide free sanitary products at a football stadium, which became a hot topic.
The installation of sanitary products at Matsumoto Yamaga FC is the first of its kind in Japan.
Many women have probably experienced the frustration of not being able to quickly access sanitary products when they are out and about. By providing sanitary products at soccer stadiums, an environment will be created where female supporters can enjoy watching the game with peace of mind.
