台湾の台北市にオープンした「The Red House Period Museum（小紅厝月經博物館）」に昨年の9月に訪問しました。
生理に対するタブーや偏見を払拭することを目的とした世界で初めての月経博物館です。
台湾でも「生理の貧困」は問題視されており、約9%の女性が生理用品の購入に苦労しているそうです。
博物館を訪れ、生理をより身近なものにし、気軽にオープンに語り合える場にすることで、生理を取り巻く問題を解決していくきっかけとなると感じました。
国や地域、言語を超えた「生理」というテーマ。
世界と繋がり、国際協力のもと、一丸となって取り組んでいきたい課題です。
Last September, I visited "The Red House Period Museum" in Taipei, Taiwan.
It is the first menstrual museum in the world that aims to dispel the taboo and prejudice against menstruation.
Period poverty is also a problem in Taiwan. Around 9% of women in Taiwan struggle to buy menstrual products.
Visiting the museum, we felt that by making menstruation more accessible and making it a place where people can easily and openly talk about it, it would be an opportunity to solve the problems surrounding menstruation.
20代の若者たちが立ち上げたNPO法人「小紅帽 With Red」が運営する「The Red House Period Museum（小紅厝月經博物館）」（台北市）
1階と2階がギャラリースペースとなっています。
2階には、生理用ナプキンやタンポン、月経ショーツや生理に関する教材が展示されており、見て触れて学ぶことができます。
博物館には老若男女問わず多くの人が訪れているそうです。無料開放されており、誰でも、気軽に「生理」について知識を深めることができます。
